Cookie policy

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser and can read again on later visits. Other technologies — localStorage, sessionStorage, tracking pixels or fingerprinting — perform the equivalent function of storing or retrieving information from your device, and the law treats them the same way.

They are usually classified by three criteria:

• By purpose: technical or strictly necessary, preference or personalisation, analytics or measurement, and advertising or profiling.

• By owner: first-party, belonging to the site owner, or third-party.

• By duration: session cookies, deleted when the browser closes, or persistent ones.

The distinction matters because only strictly necessary cookies are exempt from the duty to obtain your prior consent. All others require it.

We use no cookies at all. This site is static, requires no user session and does not personalise content, so it needs to store nothing in your browser in order to work. Nor do we set third-party cookies of any kind.

Local storage	A single entry, plausible_ignore, and only if you choose to enable it: it records that you have opted out of aggregate measurement. It is not created on its own and holds no data about you.

If we were ever to introduce a cookie — for a private customer area, say — this page would be updated before it was enabled and, unless it were strictly necessary, we would ask for your consent.

Forms. Submissions from the technical meeting form are processed on our own infrastructure and set no cookies. The data you provide is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

To learn which content is useful we use Plausible Analytics, an open source web analytics service provided by Plausible Insights OÜ (Estonia, European Union), hosted in the EU.

We chose it precisely for what it does not do:

• It sets no cookies and uses no persistent identifiers.

• It stores no IP addresses: they are used transiently to infer the country and then discarded.

• It cannot identify specific individuals, nor recognise you between visits or across devices.

• It does not track your activity on other sites and shares no data with advertising networks.

• It transfers no data outside the European Union.

The data we obtain is aggregate: page views, traffic source, device type and country. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in measuring and improving the site with the least possible intrusion; we deliberately chose a tool that cannot identify individuals.

If you would still rather not appear in the aggregate statistics, enable your browser’s Do Not Track setting or use any blocker: we respect both signals and do not attempt to circumvent them.

This site is served entirely from our own infrastructure hosted in the European Union (Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany and Finland).

Self-hosted fonts

The typefaces we use are downloaded from our own domain. The industry norm is to load them from an external delivery network — Google Fonts, for example — but that would mean your browser sending your IP address to a third-party server, outside the European Union, every time you open a page. We do not do that.

No external CDNs

Neither do we load JavaScript libraries, stylesheets, icons or images from public third-party repositories. Every static asset is our own and is served from opendome.eu.

Embedded content

Some pages might in future include third-party hosted content — a video or a scheduling form, for instance. If that happens it will be indicated on the page itself and the content will not load until you explicitly enable it; only then could the provider set its own cookies under its own policy. As of today there is none.

Outbound links

Links to third-party sites — code repositories, professional networks or sources cited in our content — are governed by those sites’ own cookie policies, over which we have no control.

Article 22(2) of the Spanish LSSI requires the user’s prior consent to store or access information on their terminal equipment, except where this is strictly necessary to provide a service the user has expressly requested. Since we neither store nor access information on your device — except for the voluntary opt-out entry described in section 2, which is only created if you activate it and exists precisely to honour that decision — there is no consent to obtain and a banner would add nothing.

That is also why this page exists despite not being strictly required in its fuller form: the duty to inform clearly and completely does still apply, and we would rather meet it by explaining what we do than by reducing it to a single sentence.

It is a decision consistent with what we build. We argue that an organisation should govern its own data and decide who accesses it; it would be hard to sustain that from a website that negotiates its visitors’ consent with two hundred advertising partners.

Even though there is nothing to manage on this site, you can review, block or delete cookies and local storage at any time from your browser settings:

You can also use private browsing mode or blocking extensions. We do not detect their use, nor degrade the experience because of it.

If we introduce any technology in future that requires your consent, we will update this page before enabling it and will request that consent through a mechanism that allows you to accept it, refuse it just as easily, and withdraw it at any time. We will always state the date of last update and the version number.
